FOOTHILLS THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION
Vulcan Prairieview School has proudly hosted the Leadership Market for many years, and it continues to be a highlight for the students. Preparation for this event begins well in advance, with the Leadership Students taking an active role in the entire process. Each student starts by writing an opinion piece and presenting a charity or cause they believe the fundraising efforts should support. After hearing more than 60 thoughtful and passionate speeches, students engage in discussion and ultimately vote to select the organization they feel most connected to.
In addition to their presentations, students also create a wide variety of items at home to sell at the market. These include baked goods, crafts, slime, cotton candy, paintings, and many other creative products. The enthusiasm, effort, and pride students show in preparing for and participating in the market are truly inspiring, and it is an event they look forward to every year.
This year, after careful consideration and student voting, the Leadership Group chose to donate the funds raised to the Foothills Riding Association. The students were moved by the meaningful work FTRA does and felt strongly about supporting our cause.
